When PURELUXE first started, one of our goals was to create dog and cat food for the modern city pet. After all, most pets these days live in a modern home and in a city. That being said, how does being a modern pet effect health?
The truth is that there are a lot of harmful substances and environments that we can find indoors and in cities. For example, the modern air conditioners that keep both us and our pets cool also dry out the skin and cause itching and scratching. Additionally, being exposed to cold air that’s constantly pipped in can irritate the mucous membrane and cause breathing difficulties. On top of that, irritants both outside and inside such as paint fumes or outgassing from new furniture all cause some level of irritation as well as long term health impacts over years of exposure.
How did PURELUXE set out to solve this? In the case of air conditioners and dry air that clog the airways, we added a blend of probiotics and prebiotics to insure a strong immune system as well as reinforced intestinal health. When it comes to outgassing from paints and furniture, we added antioxidants to support the immune system at a cellular level.
