Several years ago, legislators in Ohio introduced a bill that prohibited the use of any dog or cat remains from being used in pet food.  Although this bill never came to fruition, parts of it were included in other legislation that will soon be sent to the governor to be singed into law.

Industry experts have advised that laws like this aren’t necessary as no evidence of dog or cat remains have been found in commercial pet food.  However, numerous pet food products have been recalled for testing positive for the sedative pentobarbital which some have suggested is related to the slaughter of animals.  Speculation exists that this is why the legislators introduced the above bill.

Regardless, wouldn’t it be great to know what’s really in your pet’s food beyond the required ingredient list?  At PURELUXE Pet Food, we provide a transparent report with every bag that discusses everything from ash content to cook percentage.  Additionally, since we test every batch of food, we would catch any containments before it reached our customers.  The vast majority of pet food manufacturers don’t test every batch they make.  Learn all about PURELUXE’s safety and transparency procedures at pureluxepetfood.com.  Be safe out there!
