We’ve just gotten the data on what pet parents like you are searching for online when it comes to pet food. According to NielsenIQ, the following search terms were at the top in 2022 in comparison to the prior year:
1.) Vegan/vegetarian (23.4% increase)
2.) Sustainable (51.6% increase)
3.) Plant-based (70.2% increase)
4.) Holistic (7.2% increase)
5.) Human-grade (22.5% increase)
Let’s address some of these terms directly. When it comes to vegan, vegetarian and plant-based pet food, such formulas do exist. It’s possible to replicate the protein levels of meat based foods with plant based products but this is still in the early stages. At PURELUXE, we’d like to see how the research on this progresses.
When it comes to sustainable and holistic foods, it’s all about quality. At PURELUXE, we make sure to source the best ingredients from all over the world that are also sustainable. This also allows us to create formulas that are holistic in that they cover all of your pet’s health needs. This is why it’s important to purchase quality foods that aren’t just the cheapest ones on the shelf. The extra money normally goes to a good cause.
Human-grade foods are another term that’s become popular in recent years. However, it’s worth noting that the USDA does not certify any pet food as “human-grade” since a pet’s diet is different from us humans. That’s why it’s important to look beyond the buzz words and read into what’s really in your pet’s food.
Thanks again for listening. You can see all of our dog and cat formulas at pureluxepetfood.com.
